CFSC Hosts Candidate Forum

The Children’s Alliance hosted a candidate forum in our building on October 5th. During the forum, Congresswoman Alma Adams and State Senator Jeff Jackson responded to questions from children, young adults and people working in the social sector on the many challenges facing children and families in Mecklenburg County. Topics included the mental health crisis for young people, how to engage people under 18 in policy and decision-making, how to better support our community’s caseworkers, and a special question from a 10-year old on how to keep children safe from guns in schools.
